Neck Surgery

What is Neck Surgery?

Neck surgery, cervicoplasty, is a surgical procedure which consists of improving and shaping the skin curvature and the muscles of the mandibular arch.

The neck skin is thinner than the face skin.

Therefore, the neck ages faster than the face and, with time, the neck skin gets more flaccid. Deposits of fat, wrinkles and folds may form in this area too.

It has an estimated duration of 3 to 4 hours.

It is performed under general anesthesia and on an outpatient basis.

The cervicoplasty procedure consists of an incision along the internal edge of the ear. This incision allows to manipulate the skin and the face muscles are tightened and the excess skin is cut out.

Then, the face muscles are repositioned by tightening them. The excess skin is tightened and the extra fat is removed to take out the double chin.
