Cheek Surgery

What is Cheek Surgery?

Cheek surgery, bichectomy, is a surgical procedure to remove or cut out the fatty structure called bichat bags.

It lasts approximately 30 minutes.

It is performed under local anesthesia and on an outpatient basis.

The procedure starts with some small cuts (incisions) inside the mouth in the upper part of the molars.

Tissues are carefully separated to find the bichat bats. Then, 2 to 3 cubic centimeters of fat are removed.
